Wow Wonderous Night Elf Protectors

The night elves (AKA The Kaldorei  - “Children of the Stars”) lost their magic, and their immortality, and became secluded at the end of the third war after a huge battle. They are now part of the Alliance.

The night elfs are superstitious warriors with a preference for nature and animistic mystical forces. They are passionate and spiritual, and believe it is their duty to make sure the world is safe and in balance. They are a bit thick-headed though because they consider themselves “above” the others, claiming that lesser races don’t live long enough to recall their past mistakes.

Night Elfs get their magical powers from the Well of Eternity which burns brightly – perhaps a little too brightly.   This well that holds their magic was shinning bright and strong when Sargeras, the Dark Titan, noticed it wanted the powers for himself so he devised a plan to fool the elfs.

Sargeras portrayed himself as a mighty God, convincing  the most powerful night elf, Azshara,  to let him into their race to bless them. The elfs began to build a portal to allow Sargaras entry, and came to trust him.  But the more trusting they were the more emissaries Sargeras sent to “help.”  (The emissaries were actually demons of the Burning Legion).

The portal was almost big enough for Sargeras when Malfurion and his small band of night elfs, discovered that his plan was not an honest one and that his entry could destroy them.

After the plan failed, Sargeras started the war upon Azeroth, destroying the original, immortal, night elfs. The night elfs had to sacrifice their immortality when they decided to destroy Nordrassil, and prevent the return of the Burning Legion. Now they have been rediscovered in the continent of Kalimdor are today trying to rebuild what they lost.

You’ll need to be careful when treading on WOW night elf territory.  They sacrificed much as protectors, but even though they are a peaceful race, they do not like strangers. Many warriors have gotten an arrow in their chest from a paranoid night elf protector. So be careful and watch your back – and your chest!
